Yaletown’s Freshest Personality

A polished look

One of our favourite types of transformations are those inside repurposed buildings, as they present natural elements that exist in the building that we try to incorporate into the new design. In this design, it was the natural century-old beams.

In this Yaletown 1-bedroom condo, the objective was to maximize the kitchen’s functionality, upgrade the entire unit, and add an “ooh-la-la” personality to the space.

The lead designer at Ayume Concepts, Jennifer, took on the task of reorganizing the bedroom space and kitchen by providing a double wall-oven with a nicely sized island. She further transitioned this kitchen into the fireplace surround with a built-in desk, while adding a whole new rough aesthetic to the fireplace.

The bathroom was completely upgraded with black tiles and natural stone tones, anchored by mood lighting, adding flair and a modern touch to the entire condo.

To bring it all home, the luxury vinyl flooring (hard to believe it is vinyl) was laid in a herringbone pattern, unifying the existing beams with all the new design elements. This one was a definite transformation!
