When our client (and now friend) took possession of their Kerrisdale penthouse, the layout and functionality of the space were sparse, showcasing a lot of potential to turn this top-floor condo into a beautiful space.
Enter Andrea Jae Studio, the innovative and forward-thinking design firm that listened to the client’s needs and wants, and reimagined the space in a Scandinavian form.
Firstly, the living room required the concealing of a TV and an air-conditioning unit that would otherwise be visible. Secondly, extra storage space was needed, with the functionality of counter space and a location to hang the client’s art collection.
Lastly, the existing kitchen was perfect, except that a two-tier “bar” area was completely useless to the new owner. So, Andrea worked her magic and turned this space into an eating area, with a custom-built table that butted into the new bar back, allowing us to retain the existing kitchen layout and only reface the cabinet fronts.
The outcome was a Georgie Award Finalist in the category of Best Condo Renovation in 2025.
